Travel and Street Photography in Portugal

My family and I have just returned from an amazing trip to Portugal, where we visited Lisbon, Sintra, Porto, Óbidos, and Peniche. We explored castles and gelato shops, traveling by foot or cable car across miles and miles of cobblestone streets.

In my opinion, street photography is the most difficult style of photography to master. Scenes move at the speed of life. It’s often messy, chaotic, and exhilarating, especially when you learn to accept icy stares as the coin of the craft.

I’m currently in the process of developing over a thousand images from our trip. Today, I’d like to share five of my favorite images so far, each special to me for different reasons.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

In the coming weeks, I’ll be posting more street photography and street portraits on my Instagram @jkneilson. Please follow along!

Have a great rest of the week.
