When I photographed the leadership team at Typeface, we used natural window light against the raw honesty of a concrete wall. In an industry shaping the future, looking real isn’t just an aesthetic choice—it’s a powerful statement of credibility and connection.

In both business and life, people are drawn to genuine individuals who convey trust, warmth, intelligence, and kindness. This is especially true in the field of technology and AI, where many remain wary of algorithms and their unintended consequences. When Vectra AI—a technology company specializing in AI-driven cybersecurity solutions to detect and respond to cyber threats across networks, identities, public clouds, and SaaS applications—approached me, I knew it was time to go real or go home. In this case, “real” meant an outdoor corporate headshot session using natural light and plenty of friendly banter.
We often forget that life is ruled by simple things—trees, rocks, water, light. By the creek, a young woman sits alone. Her hair moves like something alive, catching the sun. The trees are still, but the water runs fast. She watches it. There was nothing else to do, and it was enough.
