Stryker: Corporate Headshot Photography

Last month, I had the pleasure of providing headshot photography for Stryker at their corporate event in Los Gatos. Over the course of four hours, I photographed more than thirty professionals. Each session was fast but thoughtful, balancing efficiency with individuality.

Headshot photography at events like this is always a challenge. The clock is ticking, people are moving, and yet every portrait needs to feel authentic. I focused on variety—different poses, expressions, and capturing real smiles—so that each subject left with a headshot that captured their personality.

High volume doesn’t have to mean cookie-cutter. Even in a busy event setting, professional portraits can be dynamic, polished, and personal. It’s a reminder that relational photography can make an impact, even in a fast-paced environment.

If you’re looking for event headshot photography that combines speed, quality, and personality, this is exactly the approach I bring to every corporate session.

BW Minimal Portraits

I made these portraits in a parking lot with a backdrop and a reflector.
Black and white, light and shadow, skin and texture.
Nothing extra—no studio, no crew.
Just time, space, and the light above.
Pictures are never perfect.
But I hope these feel as they happened—
Brief, quiet moments that carry emotion.
What you see is what was there.

Screw SEO

First thing’s first:
Thank you Kat for wandering the woods with me.

Next, I’m deeply fatigued by web copy,
Especially SEO-friendly stuff and ChatGPT-generated crap.

As I look through this photo collection,
I’m reminded of Wordsworth—
His keen eye, his lyrical grace.
Unlike almost everything on the internet,
He’s always worth reading.

Intermezzo

The Tables Turned

Up! up! my Friend, and quit your books;
Or surely you’ll grow double:
Up! up! my Friend, and clear your looks;
Why all this toil and trouble?

Come forth into the light of things,
Let Nature be your teacher.
She has a world of ready wealth,
Our minds and hearts to bless—
Spontaneous wisdom breathed by health,
Truth breathed by cheerfulness

One impulse from a vernal wood
May teach you more of man,
Of moral evil and of good,
Than all the sages can.

Sweet is the lore which Nature brings;
Our meddling intellect
Mis-shapes the beauteous forms of things:—
We murder to dissect.

Enough of Science and of Art;
Close up those barren leaves;
Come forth, and bring with you a heart
That watches and receives.

William Wordsworth

In the space of a single poem, Wordsworth has gifted us:

“One impulse from a vernal wood
May teach you more of man,
Of moral evil and of good,
Than all the sages can…”

And, “We murder to dissect.”

What an incredible accomplishment!

Kirk Eichelberger: From Villain to Hero

It was my privilege to capture portraits of Kirk Eichelberger, a highly regarded classical opera bass. Kirk built his reputation playing villains. His voice is dark and commanding, perfect for roles that demand presence and threat. Audiences know him as the force behind devils, killers, and tyrants. Now he’s channeling a different kind of power. As kings, priests, and protectors, he brings the same weight and intensity, tempered by restraint and calm.

Coastal Fashion Photoshoot in Half Moon Bay

Two hours. One shoreline. And an ambitious choreography focused on grit and grace.

Kaelin and I shot in Half Moon Bay, moving between sand, boulders, and a cold creek that met the sea. We pushed through pose after pose—climbing, crouching, hustling—staying one step ahead of the shifting light.

By the end, everyone was exhausted. And thrilled.

Sometimes the best fashion photoshoots are less about the clothes and more about the chase.
